What We Offer

We are an authorized Sea-Fire dealer stocking and sourcing the full Sea-Fire FK-5-1-12 product line — non-refillable NFG/NMG systems for smaller engine compartments and refillable NFD/NMD systems for larger vessels. We also carry the AT Series compact aerosol systems and Sea-Fire portable extinguishers.

Orders ship direct to you anywhere in the continental United States. If you are a boatyard, marina, or dealer looking for a wholesale source, or a vessel owner needing a replacement cylinder, call us to order. We do not publish pricing online — call for current dealer pricing on any Sea-Fire product.

We are also one of the only facilities in the country with factory training to recharge Sea-Fire cylinders in-house. Most dealers sell Sea-Fire but cannot service the cylinders after discharge. We can.

The Sea-Fire FK-5-1-12 Product Line

All current Sea-Fire engine room suppression systems use FK-5-1-12 as the extinguishing agent — a clean, electrically non-conductive agent that leaves no residue and is safe for engines, electrical systems, and electronics. Sea-Fire has discontinued HFC-227ea (Halon replacement) systems in response to the AIM Act phasedown; FK-5-1-12 is the current standard across the entire product line.

The product line divides into two primary categories: non-refillable systems for smaller compartments and refillable systems for larger vessels. Choosing the right system depends on engine compartment volume, activation preference, and whether the vessel owner plans to recharge after discharge or replace the cylinder.

NFG / NMG Series
Non-Refillable · 25–100 ft³

DOT Spec 39 cylinders. Non-refillable by regulation — after discharge the cylinder is replaced, not recharged. Designed for smaller engine compartments on outboards, sterndrive boats, and smaller inboard vessels.

NFG — Automatic activation only
NFG M — Manual & automatic activation
NMG — Manual activation only
Coverage: 25, 50, 75, 100 ft³
After discharge: cylinder is replaced with a new unit. We stock replacement cylinders and drop ship nationwide.
NFD / NMD Series
Refillable · 125–1,800 ft³

DOT 4B360, 4BW500, or 3AL cylinders. Refillable after discharge — the same cylinder is recharged and returned to service. Designed for larger engine rooms on sportfishing boats, yachts, commercial vessels, and high-volume engine compartments.

NFD — Automatic activation only
NFD M — Manual & automatic activation
NMD — Manual activation only
Coverage: 125 ft³ through 1,800 ft³
Our differentiator: We are factory trained and equipped to recharge NFD/NMD cylinders in-house — one of the only dealers in the country with this capability. Ship your discharged cylinder to us.
AT Series — Compact Aerosol Systems

The AT Series is Sea-Fire's compact aerosol suppression line — smaller, lighter, and designed for tight spaces like bilges, generator compartments, and electrical panels on smaller vessels. Coverage ranges from 19.4 ft³ to 642 ft³. Available in automatic, manual, and manual/automatic configurations. We stock and drop ship the full AT Series.

Portable Extinguishers

Sea-Fire USCG-approved portable extinguishers for on-deck and cabin use. The PRO 5 (3A:40B:C) and PRO 10 (4A:60B:C) are the primary marine portables. The Marine 5 and Marine 10 are entry-level USCG-listed units for recreational vessels. All are available individually or in quantity for boatyards and dealers.

How to Choose the Right Sea-Fire System

Selecting a Sea-Fire system comes down to three variables: engine compartment volume, activation preference, and whether you want a refillable or non-refillable cylinder. Here is how to work through the decision.

Step 1
Measure your engine compartment volume
Measure the interior cubic footage of your engine compartment: length × width × height in feet. This gives you the gross volume. Sea-Fire provides coverage specifications in cubic feet for each system size. The system you choose must be rated for at least the gross volume of your compartment — round up if between sizes. ABYC A-4 standards govern system sizing for recreational vessels.
Step 2
Choose automatic or manual/automatic
ABYC A-4 requires manual/automatic activation for most new installations on recreational vessels — automatic-only systems do not meet this requirement. The manual/automatic configuration adds a pull cable that allows helm-station or remote manual activation in addition to the thermal automatic trigger. If you are replacing an existing automatic-only system, verify your vessel's ABYC compliance requirements before ordering. Manual-only (NMG/NMD) systems are available for specific applications.
Step 3
Refillable or non-refillable?
Non-refillable cylinders (NFG/NMG) must be replaced after discharge — they cannot be recharged by regulation. Replacement cylinders are available through us and ship nationwide. Refillable cylinders (NFD/NMD) can be recharged after discharge — the cylinder comes back to us, we recharge it in-house and return it. For larger vessels and commercial applications, refillable is typically more cost-effective over time. For smaller recreational boats, non-refillable systems are simpler and the replacement cylinder cost is the straightforward path.
Step 4
Factor in cable length and bracket selection
Manual/automatic systems require a bi-directional discharge cable kit — sized to reach from the cylinder to the helm or pull station. Sea-Fire cables are available in 6-foot increments from 6 to 40 feet (special order to 100 feet). Bracket assemblies are specific to cylinder size. When you call to order, have your compartment dimensions and cable run length ready — we will help you identify the correct cable kit and bracket for your system.
Real Talk

The most common ordering mistake I see is choosing a system sized exactly to the compartment volume with no margin. Sea-Fire's coverage specs are the minimum — any obstruction, heat source, or unusual compartment geometry reduces effective coverage. When in doubt, size up. A system slightly larger than your compartment volume is always the right call. Call us before ordering if you are not sure — this is a five-minute conversation that prevents a costly mistake.

In-House Sea-Fire Cylinder Recharge — A Rare Capability

Most Sea-Fire dealers can sell you a system. Very few can recharge one after discharge. We are factory trained on Sea-Fire cylinder service and equipped to recharge NFD and NMD Series refillable cylinders in-house at our St. Petersburg facility.

This matters because a discharged Sea-Fire system on a vessel is a vessel without fire protection. Getting back in service requires a qualified facility — not a general fire extinguisher shop that has never seen a Sea-Fire cylinder. We have the factory training, the correct FK-5-1-12 agent, and the DOT authorization (RIN D133) to handle the cylinder work correctly.

For vessels in the Tampa Bay area, we also provide walk-in service. For vessels outside our area, ship your discharged cylinder to us. We recharge, test, and ship it back.

What we can recharge

NFD and NMD Series refillable cylinders (DOT 4B360, 4BW500, 3AL specification) — all sizes from 125 ft³ through 1,800 ft³

Non-refillable cylinders

NFG and NMG Series (DOT Spec 39) are non-refillable by regulation. After discharge, the cylinder is replaced with a new unit — we stock replacement cylinders and ship nationwide.

Hydrostatic testing

DOT-authorized hydrostatic testing in-house (RIN D133). Required periodically on refillable cylinders — we handle this as part of the recharge process when due.

ABS Marine approved

American Bureau of Shipping approval for marine fire suppression — required for commercial vessels subject to ABS classification. Our work meets ABS standards.

Note: HFC-227ea systems have been removed from Sea-Fire's standard price list due to the AIM Act HFC phasedown. If you have an existing HFC-227ea system, contact us to discuss conversion or replacement with FK-5-1-12 equivalent.

Who We Work With

Our Sea-Fire orders come from a range of buyers. Here is what typically drives each call.

Boat Owners — Replacement After Discharge

The most common call: a Sea-Fire system discharged — either in a fire event or accidentally — and the boat owner needs a replacement cylinder or a recharge. We stock replacement NFG/NMG cylinders and can recharge NFD/NMD refillable cylinders. Most local dealers cannot do this. Ship your cylinder to us or bring it to our St. Petersburg facility.

Boatyards & Marinas — Wholesale Supply

Boatyards installing or servicing Sea-Fire systems need a reliable wholesale source. We drop ship directly to your facility or to the vessel owner on your behalf. If you are a boatyard looking for a dealer relationship, call us to discuss volume pricing and drop ship arrangements.

New Vessel Builds

Builders specifying Sea-Fire systems for new construction need systems sized to compartment volume, correct activation configuration for ABYC A-4 compliance, and the cable kits to complete the installation. We help with system selection and provide complete kit orders — system, cable, bracket — ready for installation.

Commercial Vessels — ABS Compliance

Commercial vessel operators subject to ABS classification require ABS-approved equipment and service. Our ABS Marine approval covers fire suppression systems — we are one of the few dealers in the Tampa Bay area with this credential. We supply Sea-Fire systems and provide cylinder service documentation for ABS surveys.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you recharge my Sea-Fire cylinder?

If your cylinder is an NFD or NMD Series refillable unit (DOT 4B360, 4BW500, or 3AL specification), yes — we are factory trained and equipped to recharge Sea-Fire cylinders in-house. This is uncommon; most fire equipment dealers are not trained or equipped for Sea-Fire cylinder service. If your cylinder is an NFG or NMG Series non-refillable unit (DOT Spec 39), it cannot be recharged by regulation — we will source a replacement cylinder for you.

Do you have Sea-Fire systems in stock or are they special order?

We carry Sea-Fire inventory and can source the full product line. Common replacement cylinder sizes are typically available quickly. Larger NFD/NMD systems and special configurations may require a short lead time. Call us with your model number and we will confirm availability and ship time.

Do you publish Sea-Fire pricing?

We do not publish pricing online. Call us for current pricing on any Sea-Fire product — we sell at competitive dealer pricing and can discuss volume arrangements with boatyards and dealers.

What happened to Sea-Fire's HFC-227ea systems?

Sea-Fire removed HFC-227ea systems from their standard price list due to the AIM Act phasedown of high-GWP HFCs. These systems are still available with pricing on request due to market fluctuations, but Sea-Fire now recommends FK-5-1-12 for all new installations. If you have an existing HFC-227ea system, contact us to discuss your options — in many cases the cylinder size is similar and conversion to FK-5-1-12 is straightforward.

What is ABS Marine approval and why does it matter?

The American Bureau of Shipping is an international classification society that sets standards for vessel construction and safety equipment. ABS Marine approval means our facility meets ABS standards for fire suppression system service — required documentation for commercial vessels under ABS classification. For recreational boat owners this typically is not a concern, but for charter boats, commercial fishing vessels, and yachts subject to ABS surveys, working with an ABS-approved service provider protects your survey documentation.

Do you install Sea-Fire systems or only supply them?

We are a supply and service facility — we supply Sea-Fire systems and recharge/service cylinders. We do not do mobile installation service. If you need a system installed on your vessel, we can supply the complete kit and connect you with a qualified marine technician in your area, or your boatyard can handle installation from our supplied components.
