How CO₂ Refills Work

Three simple steps. Most customers are in and out in under 20 minutes.

1
Bring Your Tank In

Walk into our St. Petersburg shop at 3200 62nd Ave N during business hours. No appointment needed — empty tanks welcome anytime.

2
We Inspect & Fill by Weight

Our technicians check your cylinder's hydro date and condition, then refill it precisely to spec — no over- or under-fills.

3
Leak Check & You're Out

Every refilled tank gets a leak check before it leaves the shop. Pay, load up, and get back to pouring.

Don't want to wait? Ask about our cylinder swap option — exchange your empty for a full one of the same size and you're back out the door in minutes.

CO₂ Refill — Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to what walk-in customers ask us most.

How much does a CO₂ refill cost?+
Our walk-in pricing starts at $15 for cylinders under 5 lb and goes up to $40 for a 20 lb beverage cylinder. Anything over 20 lb is priced at $1.75 per pound. There is no service call fee — you only pay for the refill itself. See the full CO₂ refill cost breakdown for more detail.
How long does a CO₂ refill take?+
Most refills are completed while you wait — typically under 20 minutes from walking in to walking out. If you're in a real hurry, ask about our cylinder swap option to exchange your empty for a full one in just a few minutes.
Do I need an appointment?+
No appointment needed. Walk in any time during business hours — Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Just bring your empty cylinder to our St. Petersburg walk-in shop at 3200 62nd Ave N.
What if my CO₂ tank is out of hydro?+
CO₂ cylinders require hydrostatic testing every 5 years. If your tank is past its hydro date, we can test and recertify it in-house — we are DOT-certified to do this on site, so there is no need to ship your cylinder out or buy a new one. If a refurbished cylinder makes more sense, we sell those too.
Can I swap my empty cylinder for a full one?+
Yes. We offer cylinder swaps as a faster alternative to waiting for a refill — just bring in your empty and exchange it for a full refurbished cylinder of the same size from our inventory. This is especially useful for bars and restaurants that can't afford downtime.
Do you fill any size CO₂ cylinder?+
We fill all standard beverage CO₂ cylinder sizes: under 5 lb, 5 lb, 10 lb, 15 lb, 20 lb, and anything larger by the pound. Whether you have a paintball-size cylinder, a homebrew 5-pounder, or a 50 lb commercial tank, bring it in.
Is your CO₂ food-grade?+
Yes. We use beverage-grade CO₂ that meets the standards required for food and drink applications, including draft beer, soda fountain systems, nitro cold brew, sparkling beverages, and craft brewing.
What areas do you serve for CO₂ refills?+
Our shop is in St. Petersburg, FL — just off I-275 at 3200 62nd Ave N. Walk-in customers come from across the Tampa Bay area, including Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Dunedin, Palm Harbor,

HYDRO TESTING IN-HOUSE
We Check Every Tank's Hydro Date Before We Fill It.

CO₂ cylinders need hydrostatic testing every 5 years to stay legal and safe to fill. A lot of refill shops will turn you away if your tank is out of date — we won't.

We're DOT-certified to perform hydro testing on site, which means you can drop off an out-of-date tank and pick it up recertified — no shipping cylinders out of state, no waiting weeks for a third party, no buying a new tank when yours is perfectly good.

Every refill includes a leak check before it leaves the shop. We also handle hydro on CO₂ extinguishers and SCBA bottles if you have those too.
